I have worn the Carhart Model No. BD0017-M jeans for 20+ years. This model was suggested as an alternative to the discontinued Model No. BD0017-M. They have a different fabric and the fit is not the same. Please re-think the decision to discontinue the jeans I have worn for 20+ years.
Until then, Carhart has lost a loyal customer as I will now be purchasing another brand of jeans.

Well,
Wish you guys would bring back the B17 DST Tapered Leg Heavy Weight. Can’t tell you how many guys i know that are looking for the B17. This version looks lighter at 13 Wt?.. I would buy 5 pairs that would last for 7-8 Yrs!!

The quality of the denim has gone down since I bought my husband Carhartt jeans last year. The denim is not nearly as sturdy and the color wash is a little too bright. They look light weight – not like jeans that will last. He has worn only this brand for the last twenty years, so we did purchase some to see how they will wear. But, he was so disappointed that he is already researching other brands to try.

The ones I bought last year were triple stitched. These are not. Should I expect Carhartt to continue cutting corners?

Not happy with the streaked lines running down the legs.
Still looking for a good plain work jean. These are not it. I do have a plain carhartt Jean I found at Tractor Supply, but they no longer have my size.
Still looking. . .

I searched for B17 and found these BD5119-M that are supposed to be a replacement for them. So I ordered, but when I got them the tag says “Sits slightly below waist”. My old B17 sat at the waist. I doubled checked and the write up on the web page for these new BD5119-M’s say nothing about sitting lower than the waist. I am returning the pants as I want pants that sit at the waist. Wish you had not replaced the B17’s with something that does not match them. Please update your website as it is misleading to those of us ordering from it. Last, the fit was much tighter in the seat than the B17. For a relaxed fit, it was way too tight. Not very comfortable like my old B17’s are.

They are not the same thing as B18. Janky material, loooong pockets down the leg and the blue looks like the blue jeans I wore to first day of school in the first grade. Kept them just because too much trouble to return. Disappointed in Carhartt

As a long time user of Carhartt jeans I had hoped the new jeans I purchased, to replace the donated pairs I had, would be very close to the old ones. Fabric appears to have light colored threads running vertically and be a thinner fabric. I guess I am too old but I wish manufacturers would keep their products the same or better as before. I personally would prefer to pay a little more and get the same vs. same/similar price and cheaper products. For what it’s worth, I had tried some Wrangler jeans and had 2 pairs that the rear belt tab ripped off. Poor design/workmanship. Back to Carhartt’s.

I’ve bought Carhartt for years, but I just got a pair I had to order because no one carries them in my size anymore. I just got them a few hours ago and I’m not impressed! They still have the great stitching and extra belt loops, but that it. The first thing I noticed was there’s kind of a stripping pattern in the fabric, and the big problem is they look like they’ve been “pre-worn” so they won’t have that “new” look. I want the new look! By making it look “worn” you’re reducing the life of the garment! Also, after reading some of the reviews about the fabric not as heavy as they used to be, I think they’re right. Sorry, but you’re getting these back. I used to get a loose or wide leg and about ten years ago they discontinued them, I then went with the B-17, guess I’m changing again…..

Wore style number B17 since I was in my teens. I’m now in my 60’s. These pants were heavy duty, held up well and cleaned nicely. Told these pants were replaced with a new style (105119). Bought the new pants which are 1/3 lighter, much thinner, cheaper material. When you put on a belt, the pants fold over the belt. The waistband is as thin as the pants themselves and will not stay properly placed. Very disappointed in the quality and weight of the new pants. Carhardt has never been about fashion but more durability for a working person.n Apparently style has become more important. The pants represented on the website are nothing like the pants purchased.

Supposed to be the replacement for B17-DST, but that fit great and this doesn’t–way too tight in crotch area.

I personally love the color of these jeans. They hide deep stains better and my husband being a carpenter says they don’t rip easily. He’s tough on clothes but Carhartt has proven to be very durable. I would definitely recommend

The jeans I bought was supposed to be a replacement for the B-17 that I’ve worn for years. The jeans don’t fit as well as the B-17 as the waistband sits lower. That said, the waistband was the correct size if not a little bigger. The quality of the material is not as good as the old jeans, I’ve noticed some “thread balls” where the material didn’t weave flat and left a knot on the material. All in all I guess I’ll probably keep buying Carhart jeans since I’ve worn them for many years.
I do wish they would go back to manufacturing them in the USA and not Mexico or overseas.
The old adage of stay with the one who brought you should apply here.
I would recommend these jeans as a replacement for the old B-17, but just remember that they do fit a little different.

I might just be being a little picky but the last four pairs of Carhartt jeans were much thicker than the ones I recently bought. Now with that said the last pairs I bought were over 15 years ago ( but they lasted until just recently ). I may be showing my age but things are just not made the same any more. I always like the thickness of them for when I ride my motorcycle, a little extra protection.

While these jeans did fit they are not the style I was looking for. I have been buying Carhart jeans for many years and really liked the way they fit however when I tried to purchase the jean I always bought I was informed that they are no longer made. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I will now need to try and find another brand of jeans that fit as well as the Carharts used to. Maybe next time a little customer feed back before dropping a very popular style should be part of your decision.

I had been waiting many months to buy the nicer Carhart jeans, the STYLE #B18. Confirmed on Friday they are discontinued. I purchased these jeans in the meantime and thought they might work. They seemed to be the closest Carhart offers to the #B1i8’s. Well, they are nice work jeans if you work in a factory or farm, but not really suitable for office casual wear. It said they are relaxed fit. They are baggy in the seat and legs, so I guess they are. Don’t get me wrong, these are really decent work jeans if that is what you need. I am an older man and look like a really old man in these jeans. Buy them for fit, but don’t expect to look trim and fit in them. I’m just going to say again it is really sad that Carhart discontinued the Style #B18’s. They were stellar, well fitting and nice looking jeans. I guess I’ll go to LL Bean or somewhere else, since Levi’s quality has been in the basement for several years.

I read the description and it stated that this was the “new and improved B17”. I do not believe that whom ever wrote the description for the new pair has ever worn the B17. The B17 are discontinued and this is what takes it’s place? Just no. The fit is different, the pockets are slightly off from the B17, no problem. The change pocket (the little one on the right front) is massive, like I could not get the coins from the bottom! The waist is the same, but the length is a bit long. I put the directly on top of the B17 to measure (same size). The material states it is the same weight, but to feel them side by side, the new jean feels lighter. The patch on the rear pocket is now cloth and not leather. The leg is a straight leg, not at all what I am used to. Before I became a Carhartt person (short lived), I wore Levi’s. The Comfort fit 560, which were relaxed fit tapered leg. Also discontinued, hence the reason that I came to Carhartt. Thinking that I had found a new life long jean. The only brand of jean in my wardrobe. It looks as though I will have to find another brand that has a relaxed fit tapered leg jean, until of course they see fit to alienate those of us who like to wear that sort of jean. I have seven brand new pair in my closet so I have some time. I guess they have made their money. If you are looking for a replacement for the B17, this is most certainly not it. Carhartt, please bring back the B17 or at least make these in a tapered leg. Dark Stone was great, I am not too fond of the new colors, but I can live with it. If you could not tell, this was my honest, unfavorable review. Have a great day.

Somewhat disappointed by this replacement version for the B17 series jeans. This new replacement Jean is made of a lighter Jean weight, the feel is light weight. I really, do not understand why Carhartt has decided that working denim jean cannot be of a heavier denim quality. The Jean is for walking around town, not made to be a work Jean, like the B17 series.
Please reconsider making a heavy weight denim jean series, again.
Thank you.

This is first time purchasing this style. Overal I am not pleased with the pants. With the new stitching on the rear pockets and cloth label the look is a bit more up to date but he fabic feels lighter than the B480 that I used to buy. The fit around the waist is ok, but there seems to be extra fabric in the seat. I doubt they will last as long as the B480’s or B18’s.
