Yes, if you wash them, they will shrink. But if you dry them with any amount of heat they will shrink a lot more! Up to 4″ in length, and approx. 1 to 1-1/2″ in the waist.
Bought 3 Pair. I tried them on in store at the time of purchase and bought 34 waist and 34 length. Wife bought me an additional pair 3 months later. Decided to save two of the pairs for winter, and only wear two pair for a trial.
Comparison: Levi 550 – 33 waist, 36 length fits me great after washing and drying.
6 months later.. could hardly wear the pants, they had shrunk so much. Felt like a 32 waist and 32 length from Levi’s
Solution: Go two inches larger in waist and 1 – 2″ longer in length. (if possible, I’m 6′ 2″ and all legs) And don’t use heat to dry them. If you do use heat, go 3″ wider waist and 4″ longer in length from what you would purchase from Levi… if possible.
Carhart: 35 waist, 36 length fits me good. And I Air Dry them, no heat.
I took pictures of the new pair (unwashed and undried) and the two pair (washed and dried with heat for 6 months) that I had purchased earlier and dried as normal with heat in the dryer, as well as taking the pants in, and showed them to the store manager. (all the same size) No one had ever shown them that before. They were blown away at the shrinkage.
All that said, the pants are great, I won’t be going back to Levi’s, they simply don’t hold up as well as Carhart’s, and I love the feel of the pants.
I did rewash the pants, stretched them out each time, and let them air dry, and their getting better in length but still tight in the waist. Hopefully that helps.

When I purchase these in store they fit as labeled,
online they seem to be seconds that are wrong size and quality, you should identify them as seconds and adjust the pricing.
I have multiple pairs (10+) that I wear and can definitely tell that there is a difference from online to store purchases.

I do really love the pants a little tight in the waste but they wash up very nice! Will definitely buy more!

Great pant. My favorite. So comfortable I wear a pair daily and have many pairs. They look good, have extra pockets for my phone and such and are high quality. They last a long time. I’m still wearing some that I bought four years ago. No rips or tears. They’re a little faded from washing but still look great. I hope Carhartt never stops making them. The front pocket design is far superior to a standard Jean pocket. If comfort is important to you like it is me buy these.

I have always worn a 30″ inseam. These pants must be at least 32″ yet you call them 30″. I am not happy!!!

They are very comfortable and durable. Absolutely worth the money

The color was more brown, and an unattractive brown as well, than I was expecting. There used to be a very nice field grey color that appears to no longer offered (I did not see it) or a khaki option.
The fit was not true to size from previous buys; smaller around the waist and much longer in length.

My husband says these pants are still too flare fit. He wants a more tapered leg. I guess they are good for winter if you are wearing boots. I would not describe these as “tapered leg” though. The quality is excellent as I always expect from Carhartt products. Quality is a 5. Fit is a 2/3.

These were a purchase for my son. I bought 4 pair and he said they fit so incredibly perfect!! Super soft fabric yet very durable. They washed and dried without fading. Specifically he had to have pants without anything metal on them so he wouldn’t make any scratches while assembling vehicles. So happy that he’s happy and for certain will be purchasing more in the future!!

First pair of shrank down at least two sizes when washed second pair I ordered two sizes too big it’s still shrink down way too small very disappointed but fabric felt very nice ended up being a waste of money.

I bought two pairs of these for my husband for Christmas. He already owned several pairs of Carhaarts double front heavy work pants and loves them. Well, these lighter weight Twill were a huge hit!! He absolutely loves these now as his new favorite pants. He asked me to get him 2 more pairs! He really likes the pockets on the side. He has worn cargo pants before because he liked the ability to carry a lot of things in those pockets but he told me he likes these even better!! We both really like the feel of the fabric and the relaxed fit is perfect for him as it makes it more comfortable for him to move in, walk in and work in. They fit perfectly, exactly as described. Just wonderful!!!

Sizing was not accurate. I ordered a 36×30 for my husband which were cut too small. My son who wears a 34×28 was able to wear them except for the length which can be adjusted. Consequently, the pants were passed on to my son. Carhartt’s quality has been very consistent over the years. Not sure what happened with the sizing on this particular order.

I have another pair of these that I bought couple years ago in 34 x 34, they ended up being a little too small in the waist and a little too short but I still wear them. So this time around I bought 36 x 36 the waist is perfect. The legs however suppose 5 inches longer than my other pair so as a result I took them down and had them altered and took 2 inches off of them and now they’re perfect. everything else about them I really like .

Very comfortable. Fit & feel great! Absolutely love them. Two comments: 1. Please add 28″ inseam to the B324 lineup. 2. More colors, please – specifically, navy blue, light tan, & moss / OD green.

The zipper is too short, 4″ long. All my other carhart pants, different model, have 6″ zippers. This is not a joke, the shorter zipper makes it impossible to do your business without undoing your pants! Ridiculous, I will not be buying these again and hope it doesn’t carry to other models.

I love 100% cotton twill work pants, and these fit the bill! The relaxed fit is perfect for light-duty work. I do not know how the pants would be if the job requires a lot of squatting. A “Loose Fit” might be better.

Never true to size.
Have returned more than I kept.
Ordered 2 pair of the same exact work pants and length of leg seam about 2″ different between pairs and waist always runs about 2″ smaller than stated.

They weren’t what I ordered. The return was lost with no valid tracking number. I’m out my purchase money. Been given excuse after excuse with no results! Not worth the time or money. Too much emphasis on garment quality and nothing on backing up quality of service, which sucked! Another victim of digital kaput.

Great pants. Use them for all occasions from working in them to going out on the town. Comfortable and stylish, form and function

I have always purchased the Khaki pants with style # B290 KHI, but these are no longer available. I thought these would be a close match but are not.

I much prefer the Men’s Utility Work pant with loose fit and washed duck. The Men’s Utility Pant (B11)sits at the waist like a men’s dress pant and is more comfortable. The Men’s Utility Pant had been available in the Coffee Brown Color which I like better than Carhartt Brown for a pant. I have Winter and Spring coats in Carhartt Brown. I want the Coffee Brown contrast. The relaxed fit pant sits on the hips and is uncomfortable for active work wear.

I usually buy a 48 32 in pants but I heard carhartt runs kind small so I got a size up to a 50 32. And the 50 was tight, it’s not uncomfortable but it’s tight as well In the thighs. And a size 50 is all the have in the twill pants and I wish they carried to at least a 55 so heavy set guys like myself can enjoy them. I tried sending them back so I can get my money back but I got both in return. It will be amazing if they can offer theses pants in a bigger size then what they already have on the website. I haven’t got my money back at all and I’m hoping they can send me another pair of pants in a bigger size

Kudos to the genius in corporate who figured out that Carhartt could save 5 cents per unit if they used a 5-inch zipper instead of the previous standard 6-inch zipper which must amount to $100,000’s overall? I’m reminded of this every time I go to the bathroom and/or each time I put these on or take them off. You’ve ruined a perfectly good pair of pants that I’m sure each and everyone who has purchased a pair would have gladly paid the difference for a longer zipper.
I wish I’d read all the reviews…

Great quality
I owned a lot of Carhartt pants. Unfortunately the pants I got ran alittle small even though I have the same one but in a different colour.

They run small . I also ordered a pair of the utility duck relaxed fit. I was surprised that the duck jeans . But they definitely don’t feel 36×34 . I usually need a belt not with these. Again they fit like skinny jeans. No part of these jeans is relaxed fit.

I have bought Carhartt work clothing for over 50yrs, building bridges, highrise bldgs and erecting iron all over our country. Until in the last 20 yrs Carhartt meant quality but now it has gone to flimsy substandard, ill fitting clothing that will not hold up to hard work. Very disappointing to see this happen to what was a good American company.

I’ve bought these before and had some issues with inconsistencies in sizing – Despite all the pants being the same size, some were too big, some just right, and some too small. This made it nearly impossible to figure out what size to order. However, it looks like these issues have been worked out since all the pants I ordered fit perfectly.

I’ve been wearing these pants for the past 6 years, they were my favorite! I hadn’t bought a new pair i since 2021. Just ordered a new pair and it seems they’ve made the fit a lot more slim, and there is not a loose fit option. Incredibly disappointing, please make a loose fit as well.

Bought 2 pairs for work, most pants that iv’e used would develope holes especially around the pocket areas but not with these. They have held on no matter what i’m doing so far, also extra pockets never hurt.
