The jeans I bought was supposed to be a replacement for the B-17 that I’ve worn for years. The jeans don’t fit as well as the B-17 as the waistband sits lower. That said, the waistband was the correct size if not a little bigger. The quality of the material is not as good as the old jeans, I’ve noticed some “thread balls” where the material didn’t weave flat and left a knot on the material. All in all I guess I’ll probably keep buying Carhart jeans since I’ve worn them for many years.
I do wish they would go back to manufacturing them in the USA and not Mexico or overseas.
The old adage of stay with the one who brought you should apply here.
I would recommend these jeans as a replacement for the old B-17, but just remember that they do fit a little different.

Somewhat disappointed by this replacement version for the B17 series jeans. This new replacement Jean is made of a lighter Jean weight, the feel is light weight. I really, do not understand why Carhartt has decided that working denim jean cannot be of a heavier denim quality. The Jean is for walking around town, not made to be a work Jean, like the B17 series.
Please reconsider making a heavy weight denim jean series, again.
Thank you.

The quality of the denim has gone down since I bought my husband Carhartt jeans last year. The denim is not nearly as sturdy and the color wash is a little too bright. They look light weight – not like jeans that will last. He has worn only this brand for the last twenty years, so we did purchase some to see how they will wear. But, he was so disappointed that he is already researching other brands to try.

I searched for B17 and found these BD5119-M that are supposed to be a replacement for them. So I ordered, but when I got them the tag says “Sits slightly below waist”. My old B17 sat at the waist. I doubled checked and the write up on the web page for these new BD5119-M’s say nothing about sitting lower than the waist. I am returning the pants as I want pants that sit at the waist. Wish you had not replaced the B17’s with something that does not match them. Please update your website as it is misleading to those of us ordering from it. Last, the fit was much tighter in the seat than the B17. For a relaxed fit, it was way too tight. Not very comfortable like my old B17’s are.

I have worn the Carhart Model No. BD0017-M jeans for 20+ years. This model was suggested as an alternative to the discontinued Model No. BD0017-M. They have a different fabric and the fit is not the same. Please re-think the decision to discontinue the jeans I have worn for 20+ years.
Until then, Carhart has lost a loyal customer as I will now be purchasing another brand of jeans.

While these jeans did fit they are not the style I was looking for. I have been buying Carhart jeans for many years and really liked the way they fit however when I tried to purchase the jean I always bought I was informed that they are no longer made. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I will now need to try and find another brand of jeans that fit as well as the Carharts used to. Maybe next time a little customer feed back before dropping a very popular style should be part of your decision.

I had been waiting many months to buy the nicer Carhart jeans, the STYLE #B18. Confirmed on Friday they are discontinued. I purchased these jeans in the meantime and thought they might work. They seemed to be the closest Carhart offers to the #B1i8’s. Well, they are nice work jeans if you work in a factory or farm, but not really suitable for office casual wear. It said they are relaxed fit. They are baggy in the seat and legs, so I guess they are. Don’t get me wrong, these are really decent work jeans if that is what you need. I am an older man and look like a really old man in these jeans. Buy them for fit, but don’t expect to look trim and fit in them. I’m just going to say again it is really sad that Carhart discontinued the Style #B18’s. They were stellar, well fitting and nice looking jeans. I guess I’ll go to LL Bean or somewhere else, since Levi’s quality has been in the basement for several years.

Not happy with the streaked lines running down the legs.
Still looking for a good plain work jean. These are not it. I do have a plain carhartt Jean I found at Tractor Supply, but they no longer have my size.
Still looking. . .

Wish you guys would bring back the B17 DST Tapered Leg Heavy Weight. Can’t tell you how many guys i know that are looking for the B17. This version looks lighter at 13 Wt?.. I would buy 5 pairs that would last for 7-8 Yrs!!

As a long time user of Carhartt jeans I had hoped the new jeans I purchased, to replace the donated pairs I had, would be very close to the old ones. Fabric appears to have light colored threads running vertically and be a thinner fabric. I guess I am too old but I wish manufacturers would keep their products the same or better as before. I personally would prefer to pay a little more and get the same vs. same/similar price and cheaper products. For what it’s worth, I had tried some Wrangler jeans and had 2 pairs that the rear belt tab ripped off. Poor design/workmanship. Back to Carhartt’s.
